Providing Quality Health Care To The East Melbourne Community Since 1989

Our clinicians have a wide range of experience and expertise. We are passionate about helping you reduce pain, understand your body and restore healthy movement.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

This refers to injuries and conditions affecting joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, bones
and/or nerves.

Several of our Physiotherapists have completed their rigorous post graduate university and
clinical training in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

To get you performing at your best with a combination of hands-on therapy, exercise, and
education to help restore and optimise movement.

Jaw Pain and TMD

Our specialised physiotherapy can help in jaw pain, orofacial pain and tempero-mandibular
disorders (TMD).

Tempero-mandibular disorders (TMD) refer to disorders and dysfunction of the tempero-mandibular joints (TMJ) and/ or the muscles and nerves of the face and jaw.

Our TMJ Physiotherapists are trained in this specialised area and will liaise with your doctor,
oral medicine specialist, dentist and/or surgeon to help manage your pain and to improve your function.

Orthopaedics & Sports Physiotherapy

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy relates to management of conditions related to joints, bones,
muscles and post-surgical recovery.

It often involves managing conditions and rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery and
with the healthcare team including a general practitioner, orthopaedic surgeon and/or a
sports physician.

Sports physiotherapy relates to management of sports injuries and improving sports
performance.

It involves understanding how injuries have occurred during training or competition and may
involve analysing biomechanics and training regimes to improve your sporting performance.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

An approach used to help manage conditions that cause vertigo, dizziness and/or an
alteration in balance.

Our vestibular physiotherapists have undergone advanced training and certification in
vestibular rehabilitation locally and internationally.

We take a holistic multi-system approach to manage conditions causing vertigo and
dizziness, so you can return to your chosen activities safely.

Women's Health & Pelvic Health

This encompasses all conditions that affect women throughout their life span – from early
childhood, through the child bearing years and into menopause and older age.

Our women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapists take a holistic approach, and have
completed further study and extra qualifications in this area in order to be able to treat this
specialised field.

Neurological Physiotherapy

Following a comprehensive assessment and understanding your goals, our neurological
physiotherapists use a range of techniques to help facilitate and teach movement.

This could take place within our clinic, in our rehabilitation gym and at home with exercises
to help you return to your chosen activities.

Lymphoedema

This chronic condition occurs when the body’s internal drainage system – the lymphatic
system – cannot sufficiently manage fluid build up. It most commonly occurs in limbs, but
can also affect the torso, genital area, neck and head.

Lymphoedema is most often seen in patients following cancer treatments, which can
sometimes damage the lymphatics. It has other less common causes as well. Sometimes
people are born with lymphoedema.

Respiratory physiotherapy

There is very good evidence that physiotherapy can be effective in dealing with many of the
symptoms of cardiac and lung diseases, including increased sputum production, shortness
of breath, and reduced exercise tolerance.

Our specialist respiratory physiotherapist will perform a comprehensive respiratory
assessment. She will then tailor a treatment programme for your specific needs.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis refers to the sideways and rotational curvature of the spine. Our specialised
Physiotherapy approach for this condition is based on the BSPTS-Concept by Rigo and can
be particularly beneficial for adolescents with scoliosis.

Rheumatology

There are over many types of arthritis. They often cause pain, affect movement and the
musculoskeletal system and other body systems in some cases.

Medical management with a general practitioner and a specialist Rheumatologist is often
required with a Physiotherapist as part of your team.

Our Physiotherapists understand these conditions and the importance of managing pain with other non-pharmacological strategies, managing fatigue and to remain strong, mobile and active as part of a comprehensive management approach of rheumatological conditions.
