Your Clinical and Rehab Team

Our physiotherapists all hold a degree in physiotherapy and are registered with AHPRA.
Our senior clinicians hold additional Masters-level qualifications, and all our physios have additional post-graduate training.

Our physiotherapists also undertake regular professional development courses to stay up to date with the latest treatment approaches.

When you see one of our physiotherapists, you will undergo a skilled assessment, learn about
what is causing your pain and how to manage it with treatment options that are right for you. In addition to exercise and education, all our Physiotherapists use and are skilled in hands-on therapy.

Mayur Jivanjee

Qualifications: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation Accredited.

 

With over 15 years of experience, Mayur has a passion for all things Physio. He takes a “whole body” approach to managing injuries and focuses on returning people to their chosen movement and activities. He believes that movement is the best medicine, and that physiotherapists are expert in facilitating this as part of your healthcare team. To help return people to movement and exercise Mayur uses hands-on techniques, dry-needling, education and specific exercise rehabilitation strategies.

Mayur has completed extensive post-graduate education in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Vestibular Rehabilitation and is committed to ongoing education for all staff at Thompsons Road Physiotherapy. During his career, Mayur has worked in rural Victorian hospitals, as well as Melbourne and Sydney based hospitals in both acute and rehabilitation settings. He has worked across a range of clinics that focus on occupational health, professional sports, orthopaedics and military Physiotherapy in Australia and in the UK.

At our clinic Mayur sees patients with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic issues including headaches, jaw pain, spinal pain, shoulder injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, lower limb injuries, arthritis and complex presentations. Mayur also sees patients with vertigo and dizziness and assists them in returning to normal movement.

Fun Facts: Mayur’s favourite food is broccoli anyway – steamed, baked, roasted, fried, boiled…. He follows Carlton and the Wallabies. In his spare time Mayur quite enjoys listening to Billy Joel, Paul Kelly, Roxette and Cindy Lauper. He is excited by any sport, in particular playing soccer and lawn bowls. He also loves family time.

Mayur Jivanjee

Gordon Pritchard

Qualifications: Master of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Human Movement.

 

Gordon has nine years of experience as a physiotherapist and has been at Thompsons Road Physiotherapy for the past six years. He has a passion for adolescent, sporting injuries and injury prevention. Gordon also enjoys treating non-sporting injuries to allow people to get back to work, or perform their daily functions without pain. Seeing people return to pain-free life or achieve their activity goals is Gordon’s main driver in Physiotherapy.

After finishing a degree in Human Movement (Sport Science), Gordon completed a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2006 and subsequently worked at Sydney’s RPA hospital. In 2007 Gordon travelled to Europe and worked in private practice while living in Dublin, playing Gaelic football in his spare time.

Returning to Melbourne in 2009, Gordon joined the team at Thompsons Road Physiotherapy, where he sees all injuries, particularly low back injuries, neck and shoulder pain and sports injuries. He is qualified in dry needling and is one of our qualified clinical pilates instructors. During 2015, Gordon travelled to Papua New Guinea for three weeks to work with their Olympic team at the 15th Pacific Games.

Gordon is the team physiotherapist for the Melbourne Renegades women’s cricket team in the Rebel WBBL and continues to work with Cricket Victoria’s female pathway program. He is also team physiotherapist with the Calder Cannons U18 TAC Cup AFL side.
 

Fun Facts: Gordon’s favourite food is pizza and he states that Drew Petrie (with his North Melbourne team-mates) is welcome to the house anytime. He has a hidden talent in beer, making a wicked home brew with his brother and loves his live music…and of course cricket.

Gordon Pritchard

Megan Howard

Qualifications: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, ALA (Lymphoedema) registered physiotherapist.
 
 
Megan has worked in hospitals around Australia and in the UK, in both acute and rehabilitation settings. Over the last 20 years Megan’s clinical focus has been the treatment of people living with respiratory disorders, cancer and other chronic diseases and lymphoedema. Megan has also been involved in clinical research into exercise for people with lung cancer and has been a guest lecturer and tutor at The University of Melbourne School of Physiotherapy.
 

Megan has a particular interest in airway clearance for bronchiectasis, management of breathing pattern disorders, exercise for people living with lung disease and cancer, and the management of lymphoedema.

Megan is a titled (cardiorespiratory) member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists and a certified BradCliff Breathing practitioner.

Megan is also a qualified lymphoedema therapist, a member of the Australian Lymphology Association and is on the National Lymphoedema Practitioner Registry. She can provide accurate lymphoedema assessment and surveillance using bio-spectroscopy (SOZO) and prescribe customised compression garments. Megan can also provide lifestyle and exercise advice to patients at risk of and living with lymphoedema. 
Fun Facts: In her spare time, Megan enjoys watching her 3 children play sport, travelling and walking her beautiful Labrador, Barley.

Megan Howard

Zoe Lim

Qualifications: Master of Physiotherapy/Bachelor of Health Science – undertaking Grad. Cert Women’s Health.

 

Growing up playing a lot of sport, Zoe has always had a strong interest in staying fit and active. After finishing her degree at La Trobe University, Zoe went straight into private practice and believes in taking a holistic approach to rehabilitation in order to help people get back to feeling their best. Zoe aims to achieve a balance of manual therapy, exercise prescription and education in her sessions but will tailor her treatment to what works best for you.

Zoe has a special interest in Women’s Health conditions having worked in a Women’s clinic for 2 years and recently completing Taryn Hallam’s Women’s Health Course. She is currently undertaking her Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health at the University of Melbourne). She loves assisting women through the pre- and post- natal stage, whether it be pregnancy-related pain, post-natal recovery or returning back to exercise post birth.

Fun Facts: Zoe has an avid appreciation for all things 90’s – whether it be music, movies/TV or the fashion, so she will likely be pumping some classic 90’s tunes in her exercise classes. She is also a big sports fan and follows the Hawks in the AFL and the Toronto Raptors in the NBA.

Jennifer Lohmus

Qualifications: BA Honours Specialisation in Kinesiology, Master’s of Physiotherapy Practice 

 

Our Canadian born but Australian educated physiotherapist Jennifer loves to greet you with a warm smile and open ear. She has a well-trained eye for observing human movement from her 10+ years competing as a ballet and jazz dancer. Her dance background makes her more than qualified to teach balance to anyone from the older adult with multiple falls to acrobat.

 

Over the years she has used research – based and low risk treatment methods to help manage her patients. Not only does she love to give a good massage, but Jennifer also loves to teach you how to introduce more physical activity into your lifestyle. Jennifer can facilitate weight loss with gentle exercise and pilates. She is experienced and passionate about pre- and post- surgical rehabilitation, neck and shoulder injuries, fractures and sporting injuries.

 

Fun facts: Jennifer enjoys cycling the hills of Templestowe, kayaking on the Yarra, and rock climbing in her free time. Jennifer barracks for the Toronto Maple Leafs (Ice Hockey) and Toronto Raptors (Basketball), but has an AFL footy team too, Go Tigers! Lookout for her dance moves to Michael Bublé songs during exercise rehabilitation.

Sarah Khong

Qualifications: Masters of Physiotherapy/ Bachelors of Health Science

 

Following her graduation from La Trobe University, Sarah began working in a rotating public hospital role, across a variety of different hospitals within acute and rehabilitation settings. She is currently working in a public rehabilitation hospital in a role focused on helping patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease or multiple sclerosis.

 

With a keen eye for detail, Sarah takes a holistic and caring approach to your recovery. She has a passion for working closely with you to help you understand your condition and achieving your goals to assist you in returning to the activities that you love. Sarah believes a hands-on approach will best guide you in finding the most efficient and pain-free movements to help you exercise.

 

Sarah has a particular interest in neurological conditions and has completed further training on the Bobath Concept through the Australian Bobath Training Association (ABTA). She is currently undertaking further study in Bobath techniques.

 

At Thompsons Road Physiotherapy Sarah instructs our Saturday morning Exercise Rehabilitation classes.

 

Fun Fact: Sarah has a peculiar love of sloths. She enjoys rock climbing and yoga, and she has a passion for dancing and teaches wedding dances in her spare time. She is a talented baker and often treats the TRP team with delicious baked goods.

Sarah Khong

Meng Li

Qualifications: Bachelor of Physiotherapy

 

After completing a degree in behavioural neuroscience in New York, Meng’s interest in human biology and rehabilitation led her into the world of Physiotherapy. Having graduated from Curtin University, Meng started her career in Perth as home visiting physiotherapist providing personalised rehabilitation.

 

Her gentle nature, ability to listen to an individual’s story and the combination of her hands-on skills and therapeutic exercise prescription has already made her a highly effective therapist. She is caring and strives to help individuals reach their physical goals.

 

She has an interest in treating those with spinal pain, women’s health conditions and post-surgery rehabilitation.

 

Meng has also completed additional training in management of scoliosis using the BSPTS-Concept by Rigo (scoliosis), allowing her to provide a specific system of care to adolescents with scoliosis.

 

Fun Facts: Meng currently divides her spare time between understanding Melbourne and trying to train her short haired kitten.

Seamus O’Connor

Qualifications: Masters of Physiotherapy/ Bachelors of Health Science

 

Having originally trained as a Civil Engineer, Seamus decided to make the switch to physiotherapy to build a more meaningful connection with people and pursue his passion of maximising health and longevity in those he treats. Having grown up in Bendigo playing a wide array of sports, Seamus has developed an enthusiasm for all things exercise, from gentle rehabilitation to intense activity. Seamus comes to physiotherapy with a strong background in exercise and conditioning, having spent years as an individual and group exercise trainer.

 

Seamus takes a holistic and empathetic approach to his treatments, ensuring every patient he encounters feels that their voice is heard, and their concerns are addressed appropriately. He is of the belief that each person he encounters possesses the potential to achieve a high quality of life and function, ensuring that everyone from elite athletes to the older retiree are given the same quality of treatment and service.

 

Fun Facts: Seamus loves his cricket with claims to fame in having dismissed both a former Victorian opening batsmen and the number three batsmen for the Netherlands international cricket team (prior to their rise to domestic and international levels of course). He also supports the Bombers in the AFL with a fair weathered spirit.

They greet you warmly, help explain our services, source your scan results, send communication documents to your healthcare team, help maintain our COVID safe and hygiene practices and much more.

This allows our physios and wellbeing instructors to focus on caring for you.

Christine Cerasa

As practice coordinator, Christine heads up the reception & administration team at Thompsons Road Physiotherapy. She oversees many of the “behind the scenes” operations and undertakings at the clinic to keep the wheels turning.

 

Her friendly and energetic smile will greet you at the front desk, and she will enthusiastically work to answer all your queries about physiotherapy, pilates and our other services. Outside of work Christine is passionate about fitness and she enjoys running to keep in shape.

Lisa joined the TRP team in mid 2019. She brings her sweet and gentle nature to our reception team, and has a great eye for detail. She will always do her best to find our clients a last minute appointment and to solve any problem that comes her way.
